🧡 RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE 🧡

Before the pandemic, Glen had an excellent reputation as a roofer. However, job loss and mental health struggles during the pandemic led him to cope with alcohol, and he found it difficult to re-enter the workforce.

Glen began volunteering at Ruth & Naomi's Mission’s Kitchen, where the kitchen manager connected him with WorkBC Centre Chilliwack. With their support, Glen completed an Unpaid Work Experience, earned his Food Safe Level 1 certification, and purchased the right gear for the job.

Glen is now working as a Dishwasher/Prep-Cook at Ruth & Naomi's Mission’s Kitchen in the Wage Subsidy program, and he’s proud of his resilience and newfound confidence. He also leads a weekly NA meeting taking place at the Revive Shelter.
