Oliver’s Story
🧡 RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE 🧡
Driven by the desire to impress his sister’s friend, Oliver smoked marijuana for the first time in grade 8. The journey of drug abuse began on that day and escalated to another level after a very traumatic event in his life. Graduating to cocaine, he began a journey that would bring him to an exhilarating high before crashing to the lowest of lows. ⬇️
Years of his life were spent in misguided relationships, always ending in pain 💔 and brokenness, always involving drugs. In 2019, Oliver made the decision to get clean for the first time. 🙏 There were several decisions after that point, each time vowing that it would stick, and each time ending back in addiction in a few short months.
“I’ve gotten clean, I’ve gotten sober… there was still something missing. Ruth & Naomi’s took a chance on me, and it’s been a blessing. The care and love that I receive here… I didn’t get that anywhere else. 🧡 I wasn’t used to a loving and safe environment. I’ve learned to build my relationship with God 🙌 and now have freedom. I still have some issues and I’m working through some legal trouble,️ but I’ve been given tools and I’m learning boundaries. I’m learning how to be a man of integrity, with values, and morals.”
Motivated by his newfound hope, Oliver is working hard to earn his high-school equivalency. “I want to go to college after and see that through. I want to start my life!” 🌟
